85-Year-Old Terri Collins Takes the Plunge to Support Mental Health
Age is just a number—and Terri Collins is about to prove it at 15,000 feet.
On August 18th, Terri, aged 85, will leap out of a plane in a skydive to raise vital funds for The Counselling Partnership, a local mental health charity she helped establish over 25 years ago.
Terri’s bold jump isn’t just a personal challenge—it’s a powerful call to action at a time when accessible mental health care is more important than ever.
“People are struggling more than ever. This jump is my way of showing that no matter your age, you can make a difference. Mental health support should never be out of reach.”
A Lifeline for the Community
As NHS waiting times for mental health services continue to grow and private therapy remains out of reach for many, The Counselling Partnership is a lifeline for people navigating anxiety, depression, grief, and life’s everyday struggles.
Thanks to the vision and dedication of Terri and her fellow founders, the charity now provides affordable, one-to-one counselling both in person (at their centre in Walton-on-Thames) and online—ensuring support is accessible for those who need it most.
Recognised for Making a Difference
Terri’s extraordinary contribution to mental health and community wellbeing has not gone unnoticed. She is a finalist for the BBC Make a Difference Award, which recognises individuals and groups who inspire diverse communities to come together.
This prestigious recognition reflects not only her decades of work as a mental health advocate but also her unwavering commitment to bringing people together through compassion, courage, and action.
Why This Skydive Matters
Funding from donations and grants—including Terri’s upcoming skydive—allows the charity to keep its services affordable and accessible to all, especially those who might otherwise face mental health challenges alone.
Every pound raised will go directly toward supporting local people in need.
